Wife got her first big game animal.

108eldm at 300yds from a 6creed. I made a poor wind call, told her to hold .5mil into the stiff breeze. Should have said a full mil. But he died extremely quickly, must've hit an artery because the spray was impressive and he didn't go 10yds...mightve made it a couple yards.
Awesome congrats to her!!

Got more info on her 6cm tikka?
It's mine. She technically has a ruger American predator 6 creed with a bushnell lrhs2. But I don't trust it as the zero seems to wander .2-.4 mils.

So she used my tikka t3x with a steel proof research prefit cut to 18". Has a rokstok, sportsmatch rings, swfa 3-15, ab raptor 10 suppressor.

Only thing I would change is going with a minox zp5 5-25x56 thlr, but 2600 is hard to swallow for a scope.

The ZP5 with THLR reticle is amazing. Am guessing you've seen Form's review/eval covering reliability and usefulness of reticle.

To my eyes, glass is better than the Nightforce ATACR, Vortex AMG, Bushnell XRS, and Steiner (forget model designation, but similar mag range / class of scope). An odd combination to compare to, maybe, but that's what was on the range that day.

Got any pictures, that must have been some range day

I have plus what thlr.no himself released about it. Been following his stuff for years, I can't remember what company used his reticle design first (maybe S&B) but always thought it was practical.

Has anyone tried the 90gr or 104gr tipped hammer bullets?

I'm curious what kind of damage they'd do on deer and elk.

From what I have seen others post it seems that the hammers generally create a lot of damage and pretty quick kills for mono bullets.

I'm not a mono shooter, but if someone wants a bullet that does adequate damage and also exits, maybe these would work.

Son shot his first elk this year shooting my 6-284 with 109 LRHT Bergers

Shot was a 200yd frontal. He hit slightly high in the chest breaking the back upon impact. Bull dropped in his tracks. Bullet followed along the spin and penetrated to mid chest depth
No photos of bullet damage, I was pretty excited in the moment and forgot.

Do you think it's the rifle or the scope who is the naughty one?
I suspect it's the gun. Either the mounting system or the action screws. It has the acis mag system and I haven't gotten around to disassembling the mag release to loctite/torque the rear action screw.

It's an offseason project to get sorted.

For those looking to try the 95gr Ballistic Silvertip ammo in a 243 but can't find any or it has been too expensive, these guys have it on sale @$34.99 and with free shipping on orders over $99 so 3 boxes and you get free shipping.

I was very happy to take this nice coues buck as the first kill with my Tikka 6 creedmoor (18" PBB barrel)

108 eldm estimated impact velocity was 2600fps
Buck was below me, quartering away and slightly climbing. The shot entered the back about mid-body (just grazed the backstrap) and went though the entire chest cavity. Exited out the front with a softball sized exit. The buck did the stallion pose (up on hind legs, kicking front feet) then tipped over dead. For me this is perfect cartridge/bullet performance. Just what I was looking for in an easy to shoot and carry package!
