I had to read a few comments. That lack of understanding bullets, cartridges, and terminal performance is strong in those comments. Wow. Im no expert but most of the commenters sure act like they are and it's obvious they don't know much.Watched the clip of the moose thing and then against my better judgement I read the comments. Found this gem. Guys are literally arguing that arrows make wound cavities much larger than 22 cal bullets. Lol

Much better varmint/yote bullet in my experience. Bad medicine for them yotesI have been searching this thread for it, but isn't an 87gr vmax bullet one that is recommended for 243 for deer? Factory ammo only for me.

I agree, I just remember reading something about it for deer, guess I was mistaken! I'm thinking more SST or fusion for mine.Much better varmint/yote bullet in my experience. Bad medicine for them yotes
Interesting video. Now I'm going to have to look at the Ultralight Ultralight AR thread and see if anyone has built a 22 ARC.It was a running follow up shot. Here is the video.
Nah I know of a few people that have hunted deer and successfully used the 87s so it’s not a wrong choice there are just better ones as someone mentioned. The eldm is one of my favorites if you can find a weight that works with your twist.I agree, I just remember reading something about it for deer, guess I was mistaken! I'm thinking more SST or fusion for mine.

At this time they don't seem to extract the spent brass well enough to do it.Interesting video. Now I'm going to have to look at the Ultralight Ultralight AR thread and see if anyone has built a 22 ARC.

Good point thank you! I'm open to all suggestions. I'll be scouring this thread though looking as well again now that I've got my rifle almost here.Like anything else, it depends on impact velocities. When shot out of a 6X45, it works quite well. At .243 velocities, you need to get it out to about 300 yards before it hits the velocity at which it won't upset too much, too soon.
Because we cannot always choose the distance at which game will present a shot, as Form said, there are better choices.
Seeing what the 108 ELDM did in my kids 6ARC, plus getting my first suppressor, was the nudge I needed to sell my 7mmRM to fund the new .243AI. no regrets.Another deer for the 6 arc. I built this for my daughter. I now feel an overwhelming urge to ditch my 300wm and go 6cm.

Good thing it wasn't a shoulder blade...woulda blowed up and bounced off.The Femur of an Alaskan moose destroyed by a 88 ELDm out of a 22 ARC. A .243 with a good bullet couldn’t possibly take on a deer or elk shoulder….

Same here. After seeing what that bullet did to a cow moose I yanked the 7RM barrel off my tikka, threaded on a 20" 6PRC and will never look back. What velocity are you getting with the AI?Seeing what the 108 ELDM did in my kids 6ARC, plus getting my first suppressor, was the nudge I needed to sell my 7mmRM to fund the new .243AI. no regrets.
Question wasn’t asked to me, but 3150 with 4831SC and the 108.Same here. After seeing what that bullet did to a cow moose I yanked the 7RM barrel off my tikka, threaded on a 20" 6PRC and will never look back. What velocity are you getting with the AI?

How far was the shot?108 ELDM 1900 fps impact. Entered in front of the shoulder, hard quartering towards, caught under offside hide.
Dead deer. ~2/3 retained weight if you care about that kind of thing.
Got more info on her 6cm tikka?View attachment 782982
Wife got her first big game animal.
108eldm at 300yds from a 6creed. I made a poor wind call, told her to hold .5mil into the stiff breeze. Should have said a full mil. But he died extremely quickly, must've hit an artery because the spray was impressive and he didn't go 10yds...mightve made it a couple yards.
