I'm thinking I'll just run the same load as my 108 eldm. Fingers crossed they don't immediately sell out tooThe wait is driving me crazy. I keep checking Sierra for load data too but they haven't updated with them.

Love seeing new options come out. Can’t wait for the tipped fusion.
How about for balancing killing with meat harvesting? The 116 TMKs are decisive terminally. Shot next to 103 ELD-Xs into multiple animals, there was no comparison for killing.
True enough. TMKs kept in soft tissue and into the vitals are ideal. Hit bone with them and there’s damaged and bloodshot meat for sure. I can live with some damaged meat for a more reliable kill. Everything’s a choice. How about for balancing killing with…

You good, man? I was asking an honest question. Trying to learn from someone with more experience than I have. You could give someone the winning lottery ticket and they would bitch that they didn’t like the number
You could just hold up for a year, I’m sure this thread will be flooded with 107 and 116 TMK kills by this time next year. That’s kind of my plan, and to see what availability looks like after the one year mark (Sierra sucks at this aspect historically). I still have quite a few 108 eldm’s to burn up before I have to make that decision anyway. How about for balancing killing with meat harvesting?
Don’t be such a baby, go out and verify it for yourself. You good, man? I was asking an honest question. Trying to learn from someone with more experience than I have.

I've read some of this thread but not in its entirety like I have the .223 thread. I drank the koolaide and got me a rs special and it's been serving me very well. Now to my question, I bought my oldest daughter (10 yo) a youth Weatherby .243 which I'm going to put a Trijicon 1-6x24 scope on but I'm not sure what factory ammo to use? I've bought several had this rifle threaded for a can so I'm trying to make a pleasant experience for her.
Anyhow, I saw some hsm low recoil 85 gr sierra ammo that I'd like to try but I can't find out what exact bullet it is. The description of the bullet is vague so I'm not sure. Has anyone tried this? We'll be hunting whitetail 50 to 200 yards. She can shoot my 223 with 73 eldm's well it's just not an ideal lop.
That's what I came up with as well. I'll reach out to them but I'd like to hear from anyone with experience.I couldn't find much on it. Seems like it might be a proprietary bullet for HSM? Might get some better info reaching out to them.
The bullet used in the HSM Low Recoil 85-grain ammunition (specifically chambered for .243 Winchester) is a proprietary Sierra 85-grain Tipped Spitzer Boat Tail (SBT) bullet.
Here are the specific details of the bullet:
- Manufacturer: Sierra Bullets, designed in a special partnership with Hunting Shack Munitions (HSM).
- Design: It features a distinct orange polymer tip (often referred to as an OPT or Ballistic Tip).

I tried staball 6.5 too, didn’t do a ladder just used the same charge I had with the 103 eldx. Shot really good: 1” for 10 but the charge I tried was 100 fps slower than h4350 which shot 1.3” for 10. Didn’t feel like I needed to keep tinkering to find pressure even though I know the staball would give more speed. I know a lot of guys haven’t had the best results accuracy wise with them, but they have been shooting more than good enough in my gun.Man that is one nasty bullet, I bought some to try out in my daughters .243 win for next season. We are getting 2985 fps mv with Staball 6.5.
