Thanks man!Nice looking rig!
That’s a bummer. I’ll have to ask defiance about it.I put 180 rds through the 65prc build for my friend, 150 with original spring, 30 with 21# spring just to confirm velocity and ignition was the same. That 75° is a, well it's a beast in a not so good way......
pretty but expensive build! how much room in the mags with the 103s in there? Thanks man! Picked up 200 of the 103 ELDX for now but have been interested in the 95 TMK as well. Seems like all of the current TMK, ELDM and ELDX are all killers.
What were the results of your test between the two springs? Did the 75° bolt loosen up any or does it still suck?I put 180 rds through the 65prc build for my friend, 150 with original spring, 30 with 21# spring just to confirm velocity and ignition was the same. 75° defiance sucks honestly unless you install an 18" spring. 18# in 75° feels like my 90° defiance with a 24#. Ignition seemed the same. Only tested 20 rounds, but es/SD and mv was all in line with 21# VS 24#.What were the results of your test between the two springs? Did the 75° bolt loosen up any or does it still suck?
He's on Facebook if you have that. If not I can get you a number.Hmmm… Sounds like I might just keep my 90° bolt. May still talk to Jim anyway. Do you know how to reach him?
I found him and messaged him. Thanks! He's on Facebook if you have that. If not I can get you a number.
I am pretty interested in this and will have to reach out to him as well - I have two of the 90 degree defiance anti actions and wish the bolt lift was less.75° defiance sucks honestly unless you install an 18" spring. 18# in 75° feels like my 90° defiance with a 24#. I've molested a few the impact 75° and they don't have near the increase of cocking forces that's defiance did. They may have swapped some springs around too, who knows.
There's a guy in Spokane WA area who will tune up the 75° defiances with an 18# spring, he flutes the firing pin, does some other vudoo and makes em feel pretty good. I had him do all the mods to my 90° classic, and it's butter smooth and easy opening/closing. Once we get some real cold weather here in MT I'll go out and send a bunch of rds with the 18# VS 24# and see if there are any differences in ignition. His name is Jim Konzal.
I just got my two Defiance Anti bolts back from Jim. First off he was super easy to work with and he tuned the bolts around from receiving them to getting them back in the mail to me in about 24hrs.Thank you guys for the kind words. I just joined Rokslide.
Yes, I have had very good luck with optimizing the Defiance bolts, both 75° and 90° bolts. It has been tested WAY past the modifications that I perform, so reliability is not a problem. I usually ship the bolts back within 1-2 days. My goal is to ship it back out the day after I receive it, but sometimes life gets in the way (I’m married!!). If anyone has questions, please feel free to message me. I’m guessing that’s a thing on here, but I haven’t looked around too much!
Thank you and God bless,
Jim
Awesome. I’ll definitely need to send mine in.I just got my two Defiance Anti bolts back from Jim. First off he was super easy to work with and he tuned the bolts around from receiving them to getting them back in the mail to me in about 24hrs.
I don’t know what the process is exactly but the difference is very noticeable. I don’t personally have much experience with other nice actions and I imagine there’s still some bolts that lift easier out there but from stock to after Jims work I would hazard a guess at 40% reduction in lift force.
Definitely seems like a worthwhile upgrade to me.
