6ARC Tikka

I posted a pic earlier in the thread of the tikka 6arc in an echo. Liked that setup a lot actually. But wasn’t totally convinced with the tikka mags and the 6 arc and… my rokstok came in so…. Took it out of the echo and put it in the rokstok. 3rd M+ worked ok. The extended length Ms didn’t work at all. So I went all in on a AICs botom metal and mags. Just got it all assembled today and cycled a few mags through of the 5 rd AICs mag with primal 6br conversion kit and the 10rd MDT metal 6 arc mag…. And I really like it! No issues so far. Plan to get it out this weekend and see how she does.

- Tikka chambered for 6arc by Kampfeld 16” preferred barrel
- Rokstok
- Redsnake nextgen short action tikka AICs hunter bottom metal
- AICS 5 round 308 mag with primal conversion kit to 6BR
- MDT metal 10rd 6arc AICS mag

That’s sick

Super cool build. Give us some details on the bottom metal install. One page says its designed to fit the stock inlet but the instructions state that you have to knock off two little ribs on the inside and potentially widen the inlet.

Would be a no brainer if you could successfully swap back and forth.

You do have to fit the interal of the stock inlet to the bottom metal. I used a dremel. A little more involved than I expected but it wasn’t too bad. It’s definitely not a straight drop in. But you also don’t have to change the overall inlet diemensionally externally on the stock if that makes sense. You remove material internally for the the part of the mag well that extends into the stock a little to fit. They have a video that’s does an ok job of showing what you do. And you do have to remove the ribs or the AICs mags themselves wont insert all the way. I’d think it’d probably still work with the original bottom metal but I didn’t try it

Where’s the pics!
Took her to the range yesterday. Smashing targets 250 out to 800 in the canyon first shots from standing tripod, high kneeling tripod, no problem. Not bad for a 16" barrel! Proof just dropped a new batch of 16" barrels for the Mini Fix 6ARC. Ordered it up immediately. Super stoked to test that bad boy and potentially drop even more weight before hunting season. Love the easy barrel swap on this rig between any of the ARC cartridges.

Yeah that makes sense to me. You could use some black bedding compound to clean up those edges along the bottom metal if you wanted. Thanks for the info. Sounds like running it on a mill is the way to complete that job the cleanest. The dremel always gets away from me.
