As the title says. Going to have one built and need help deciding on some bullets. I’ll be hand loading. Loooking at anything that’s from Berger 140gr or heavier, or Hornady 147 ELDM 143 ELD-x. Any recommendations ? Gun will be used on mule deer hunts/ coues hunts.

Thanks

I used 140 Bergers in mine for years. Worked great at 2975 FPS.
Thanks for the reply I’m just trying to decide between those or the ELDM’s I’m just a little concerned with match bullet performance on game. Even though it seems like everybody hasn’t had any issues with them.

The 156 Berger works very well, just hard to find sometimes. I have had good results with the 147 ELDM too.

I used a 140 VLD-H out of my 6.5 prc this year and wasn’t impressed with how the bullet basically fragmented on impact. I’m going back to 143ELDX’s.

The Berger 140 Hybrid Target shoots really well in my 6.5-284. I know numerous other guys that shoot this same bullet in a variety of different 6.5's and they shoot very well for them and they've put down a lot of game with them too.

My 6.5 x 284 loves the 147 eldm and it's deadly on critters. It's also a nasty combination with the 140 bergers.
