Will be my first time loading Hammer bullets. Have a few buddies that swear by them so figured I’d try em. Wanting to try the 110HH bullet in my 20” suppressed PRC. ADG brass. What powders r u thinking to start with? Got lots of H1000, Retumbo, RL26 and H4350. Also got a few lbs each of RL16, Rl17 and Varget. My current load is 139 Scenars, Fed 210M and RL26 at 3080fps. Should I start with RL26 or do I need a faster powder?

Edit to note. I have talked to Steve on what he thinks will work and will definitely try. But he said he hasn’t have anyone try it yet so figure I’d see if anyone has any real world data with this particular combo.

Thanks Roy

I am ordering some 124 grainers to try out of my 18" PRC. My thought is 4350 might be a good one to get a little faster burn rate but I haven't found too many people who have tried it... I will probably start with that and also try VVN565.

H4350 was best in my 270win with the hammer 117s and 124s. 6.5PRC is similar case capacity. I'd start with the 4350 out of your options.

H4350 is about as slow as I'd go
You have a great load with the scenar, curious why you'd switch to a mono?

Just to play. Have a spot I hunt that I have 2-5 seconds to pull the trigger. 380yds max shot. No time to range and dial. Figure 110Hammer at 3500 would be a lazer beam. Like I said. Just to play. Got piles of rifles and loads developed.

Stick to faster than you'd think powder. There's a hammer time forum where you might get some more specifics also longrangehunting.com is essentially the hammer forum #2. When hammers were new, Steve would reccomend using nosler data for like weight bullets and find a powder fill of 90%+ they have 120gr data
Some powders will shoot great with a slight crimp ad well. Lee has a crimp die for tje orc if you don't already have 1

If you don't want to use the crimp die and are using bushing dies typically 3-4 thou neck tension works as well as the lee crimp

I want to try the 110's also. I have a box of 50 at home already, purchased for a friends Creedmoor. I'd try H1000 or Reloader 26.
I have a great load 124HH 3200fps 58.2 grains H1000, RLRP, COL 2.95 Hornady brass. ES around 5. Can shot skeet at 600 yards.
I'm running ADG brass in my 147ELDM loads. Havent switched the Hammer load over because it shots so great.
If you find a good load let us know, thanks!

Ramshot magnum doesn't get much attention, it's close to rl26 and easier to find. My 24"prc with 124hh's liked 61.3gr 2.910 nos brass fed 210 @3050. For some reason my 127lrx's shoot a good 50fps faster than the 124hh's. I too want to try the 110's or the AH's. I recently bought a ridgeline fft with a 20" barrel and Unknown munitions recommended N565 for that..

Velocity is great, temp stability is not.

Curious with how this is progressing for you?
I have a 18 as well looking to try other powders besides the Retumbo I have on hand.
