Another note, same load with Lapua SRP and CCI 400 gave me 2880 fps, with a tighter SD 7.2 (vice 8.7 with the Peterson LRP and CCI 200).

Working with Unknown Munitions on load development for 175g TS in my 300 wsm. Shot a ladder today and results:
Browning Hells Canyon 300wsm 26” barrel TBAC 7
ADG brass
215m primer
2.825” Coal
H4350
61.5g- 2907fps avg, 17.5 std dev, 25 es
62.0- 2928 avg, 11.9 std dev, 24 es
62.5-2956 avg, 21 st dev, 38 es
63.0- 2978 avg, 8.5 std dev, 17 es
63.5 - stiff bolt lift and slight ejector mark, 2998 avg, 6.9 std dev, 13 es

Will likely load between 63.2-63.4. Waiting to hear what UM says to data.
Any ten shot groups with the 300wsm UM loads? Curious how it turned out. Thanks

Not yet, forgot to photograph the 200 yard zero and this shot well out to 315. Will have some 10 round groups of this load and the factory DRT in the next 6 weeks when I can get out to the range. So far the UM load shoots much better than I can.

Hi,

I’ve been testing ammo for a new 6.5 Creedmore and have been impressed by the 135 gr DRTs. I don’t factory load so this is DRT factory loaded ammo. Gotta say I’m not real happy with that. One of the first 20
shells had no powder in it!

It’s come down to this or Lehigh Defense Controlled Chaos loaded by Gorilla. crazy accurate but also crazy slow.

Does anyone know the BC of the 135 gr 6.5 bullet?

Gun is Defiance Rukus action with 20” proof barrel. Average speed is 2530 bps.

Second group shown is only 7 shells cause number 8 was the shell with no powder in it and the bullet was left in my barrel.

There's a lot of reports of real poor factory loadings from drt. The squib load is beyond unacceptable. I'd contact them about that.
They're hand loads only for me.

Thanks for the info.

From the looks of DRTs website and their seeming lack of presence in the industry I am wondering if they are heading out of business or what? 1/2 their listings on the website are for “blemished” bullets and cartridges.

Too bad as it seems they have a good product.

When I’ve called to check on availability for some of their bullets they’ve said they need to fulfill their military contracts before they can get back to making bullets for us. So I think just bullet and ammo sales isn’t driving their business.

Here’s my latest experience with 300 wsm 200gr. DRT Terminal Shock

I revisited this load after inconclusive results the first time I tried.

300 wsm 61 grains of h4350 with 200 gr DRT TS.

2- 5 shot groups. One seated at .015 off lands and one seated at .030 off lands.

I was beyond happy with the results. I’m not the greatest shot. But I’m getting better. The loads or doing their job. .015 is going to be the load I run with. The SD and spread were legit and I look forward to loading 50 more and stretching the legs and booting them at distance to verify. Also shot 200 eldx and 208 eldm. Which proved to be solid but DRT is leading the pack at the moment.

DRT shows out of stock online for a lot of their bullets, but they actually have a bunch (just not packaged yet). Called and got some more 95, 79, and 135 headed my way. Just a heads up!

Shot a couple 7 round groups (I only brought 10 each and used 3 for other positions to work on) of the um drt and the factory at 200 yards. The um ammo is top notch. 300 wsm, browning x bolt long range 26” barrel. GRS Bifrost TBAC 7, prone off mdt cke triple pull with rear bag.

Shot a 10 round group of this pretty quickly to see how it would perform. Grouped very well with 2680avg fps, 60 es, 27std dev. This bullet shoots great in my T3 6.5 Swede, I’m pumped. I am hoping the n555 shoots well and I can get a bit more velocity out of it. I am really hoping to hit 2750 with a 19” barrel.
Shot my t3 6.5x55 Swede with the Hendershots original n560 load and then one with another .5 grain of n560. I did not shoot great with this gun today but both loads look to shoot better than I can with this gun. 19” barrel with banish 30.
Original Hendershots 135g drt: 2714 fps avg, 40 std dev, 111 es, 1.8 moa
With .5g added n560 135g drt: 2740 fps avg, 20 std dev, 66 es, 1.95 moa

the extra .5 seemed to get things dialed in a bit, wishing I shot better to truly see. Will post updated group when I shoot again.

Ok, here are MY results. These are all at the range in Lincoln CA off a concrete bench. Roughly similar conditions each time I shot (although on different days). From "best" to "worst" for a 10 shot group. I usually shot all 10 fairly quickly (< a couple minutes), but tried to make sure no mirage ...

My setup again: Tikka 6.5 CM Superlite, cut barrel to 21.5", Ross Muzzle Break. 135 DRT @ 2.700 COAL
  1. 1.45" group: 46.5g Staball 6.5, Lapua SRP, CCI 400, 2880 fps, 7.2 SD, 0.45 Mean Radius
  2. 1.57" group: 45.5g Hunter, Peterson LRP, CCI 200, 2842 fps, 10.5 SD, .61 MR, 2.775 COAL
  3. 1.69" group: 41.0g Varget, Lapua SRP, CCI 400, 2892 fps, 7.6 SD, .61 MR (this was actually only 5 shot group)
  4. 2.50" group: 44.5g H4350, Peterson LRP, CCI 200, 2903 fps, 9.7 SD, .80 MR
  5. 2.57" group: 44.5g RL16, Peterson LRP, CCI 200, 2856 fps, 6.1 SD, .65 MR, 2.775 COAL
So, going with the Staball 6.5. Now to group at some distance to see if consistency.

Thanks to all for your help getting here.

I have a 140 ELDM load that I will shoot when I don't have to shoot non-lead. It is money!

Anyone had luck with H4350 in the 135gr? I am new to reloading and after a rodeo trying to find a shot buck with a Federal Trophy Copper thinking of giving the 135gr DRT a try before the 127 LRX in a 6.5 Creedmoor.

My brothers been using the LRX all year and it’s been nothing but rodeos. He’s shooting them fast too out of a prc. Terrible performance.

I haven’t messed with the 135s yet. But I’m about to. I just won a ruger American in 6.5 creed. So far they have been super accurate and the photos I’ve seen and testimonials have been all positive as far as performance.

Put my Swede in a rokstok and it shoots the N560 just under pressure with the 135grain DRT terminal shock very well now. 2704fps avg in 36 degree temps.

Nice!!!
Just ordered brass for my .243 to load up and test a bunch of the 95 gr. Terminal shocks.

I have test loads loaded for my 270 with the 152 gr. Ts as well.
I’ll post after I have the results.
