Ammo is scarce and saami chamber will limit the number of reloads you'll get before your brass is trashed
Don't load it over pressure and brass will be fine
As far as bolt click guys have the chamber reamed out to solve that problem
I own one, brass life is no worse then any other caliber and sense reaming the chamber have not had an issue with bolt click

I can't believe Hornady made that undersized chamber blunder with both PRCs, and now it looks like they'll repeat the same mistake a 3rd time with the soon to be released 7 prc!

You can have your chamber reamed out but its dumb having to do that, plus un some situations it may lead to sizing issues with an over expanded case head in a really tight die..

Don't know if that will be the case won't be purchasing a 7prc no need
I'm currently selling both my 300 &6.5 prc.
For the last 35+ yrs My 280ai and for the last 12 yrs the 6 .5 creed they have done an outstanding job on everything from prarie dogs to moose with a lot less recoil better barrel life& easier to find components don't see any reason or need to change that
Thanks for being civil with your answer I greatly appreciate it

Not into the 300 prc (hence why it's for sale )or the new 7prc because of their magnum status I'm just not a magnum fan I don't do well with recoil
I think shooting my grandfather's unbraked 340 weatherby mag cured me of ever wanting to own anything magnum related

Do you mind plugging some metrics in for me to help me understand?
Here's some numbers. The 6.5 CM uses 129 gr ABLR (handload), the 6.5 PRC uses 147 gr ELD-M (handload), and the 308 Win uses 175 gr Terminal Ascent (commercial); when I ran commercial ELD-X my 308 would hit 1800 fps @ 500 so the numbers were even worse then.

Here are numbers for my "anemic" 6.5 CM, my "not a true performance bump over a 6.5 CM" 6.5 PRC and my highly desired and "more bigger more better" 308 Win.

Additional Info
* My 6.5 PRC shoots commercial 147 gr ELD-M @ 2910 fps and hits 1800 fps @ 1025 yards.
* My 2nd 6.5 CM shoots commercial 147 gr ELD-M @ 2685 fps and hits 1800 fps @ 825 yards. Same rifle shoots commercial 143 gr ELD-X @ 2726 fps and hits 1800 fps @ 775.

Ream it out to 6.5 RSAUM, better velocity, and any 300 or 7 RSAUM brass is an easy resize reload…just an option
