I have a 24" barreled 65cm, shooting factory barnes 127gr lxr at 2830 average (magnetospeed)

I wonder what velocities I could get with 130 TMKs

I must have missed it. What’s minimum terminal velocity for the 130 TMK?
1700fps put a base ball size channel through bull elk chest, passed through onside and off side humerus’s . Same size channel through neck and spine.

I do dumb things, 1800fps would be better.

My 130 TMKs are about 2800 at a grain under max with a 24” tikka and a suppressor. You could push it if you wanted I bet to 2850… but there might not be much need.

Book max H4350/130TMK in my Tikka w/ 24" Proof 6.5CM barrel makes 2930fps. It's a bit fast and probably flirting with +psi. It's a ridiculously good shooting load though, 10 shot groups are consistently sub 1moa and it stacks at distance.

FWIW, another data point: 2770fps in a factory Tikka barrel cut to 20" with book max Varget. This one dumped a Roosevelt Elk at almost 600 yards.

Proof barrels are pretty quick.

It’s probably buried in here but what is the minimum terminal velocity of the 147 ELDM? Thought I saw on here the 147 is a little tougher and needs more than 1800 FPS to expand.

No pictures, but 3 WV does were killed this weekend with my Tikka in 6.5 Creedmoor that has had the factory barrel chopped to 20" and threaded with a collar for suppressor use. It sits in a Stocky's VG stock and I am using a Dead Air Nomad 30 suppressor.

The load is a 143 grain ELDX over the top of 45.4 grains of VV N560, lit by a Win LR primer, all in Starline brass. Muzzle velocity is 2663 fps.

First doe (118lbs live weight) was at 21 yards. Shot was just below the ear. Caliber sized entry, 1.5" exit on the opposite side of the head. DRT.

Second doe (126 lbs live weight) was at 93 yards. Shot was a little back and high (about mid-ribcage). She was slightly quartered away and head was lower than the butt. Caliber-sized entry and about a 2.5" exit through the spine, about mid body. Deer dropped and kicked around for about 10 seconds before expiring. Upon gutting, there was clear damage to the top/back of both lungs, a fragment that went through the liver, the top of the stomach was torn, but the main killing factor was that the main artery below the spine was severed.

Third doe (148 lbs live weight) was at 57 yards. Same shot as the first one (right below the ear). Same results as the first one.

N560 seems like a pretty slow burning powder for a 6.5 cm. But you probably don’t need much velocity shooting that close I guess.

2663 fps out of a 20" barrel with a 143 grain bullet is pretty good. That is one of the cool things about these modern cartridge designs. They work with a pretty large cross-section of powder burn rates.

I can't get much more out of 6.5SB before hitting pressure (about 2670 fps). I am able to get to 2747 with H100V, but my SD and accuracy with that load isn't anywhere near the N560 load (25.6 and 1.2MOA vs 6.8 and 0.8MOA, respectively)

Edit to add: Also, that load will get me to about 630 yards and still be at 1800 fps (effective bullet performance velocity) at WV elevations.
