So is the consensus that the 6.5 130 TMK is a better deer and antelope bullet than a 130 Berger hybrid? Or pretty much 6 of one, half dozen of another??? Flinging them primarily out of a 20" 6.5 creedmoor.
Thanks

On a deer I prefer a tipped bullet. They just seem to expand more quickly, on deer size game I think that helps take out both lungs.

My wife killed her first bear yesterday with her creed, another victim of the 130gr terminal ascent. Shot was 256yds, steep downhill, hit edge of the spine and hung up in the hide in the offside. Wound channel was fine, but the first that I wasn’t impressed by the wound channel, it worked fine but fairly narrow wound. Down to the last few of them and will be switching to 140gr eldm going forward. I like the terminal ascent a lot, but especially for bear, I want a lot of upset, they are just so soft that it’s good to have a soft bullet that violently disrupts because they don’t ever run into nice areas when shot, they find the nastiest spot within reach

Built a 260 AI on a Remington Mountain rifle some years ago. I just rebarreled it with a Lilja, 260 AI, SS, 24” bbl. It is equipped with a Vias brake and has accounted for many critters. MTG

Do you have a preferred load for 6.5CM 130 tmks?
I'm not the guy you tagged, and I haven't shot a ton of these, but I have shot 150 or so through my rifle, and killed 2 whitetails with them.

I used Varget, load was 39.2 grains if I remember correctly. That got me about 2830 fps out of a 22" barrel. Standard disclaimer applies here, work up carefully in your own rifle!

I intend to do some work with H4350 this summer, as I have a fair bit of it. If I remember to I'll try to post results of that.

See the link above for Sierra’s loading data. I am loading Sierra’s book max with the 130 TMK and H4350 with an OAL just under magazine length. I’m getting about 2670 fps out of a stock T3x barrel cut to 16.5” with a can. I am getting right at 1 MOA 10-shot groups with that and no pressure signs. That puts me at >1800 fps to 650 yards.

Hornady precision hunter 143 eldx out of a 6.5 creedmoor. Under 100 yards quartering to me. Busted right through the front shoulder. Was going to get some pictures when I got the hide off, but was visited by another bear so I decided to make haste and get out of there before dark. No blood, but he ran about 50 yards and expired
