500 or 1000d cordura

Is it worth the xtra weight for 1000d cordura? For kifaru packs. I only pack a few miles in and don't push it more than 60-70 lbs

No, most that THINK they need it don't!

There are a lot of times where 500d isn't even needed. That is unless you're doing some cliff testing.

I feel that 500D is more than enough for most portions of any gear aside from maybe the highest abrasion point of a backpack or something...
With that said, check out Rockywoods.com for their fabric selection. Sometimes it can be a buck or so more a yard than other places, but they're colors are consistent, they ship fast, and have a huge selection of awesome materials.
