300win or 7 prc

7 PRC over the 300 WM. Lots of ammo available now, less kick, better BC, less wind deflection.

If you were reloading and could get brass I'd go 7 SAUM... or take a long look at 280 AI.

7 PRC….check the 180 Berger Hybrid. I have a 6.5 PRC and shoot 140 burgers. The 7 PRC in my case has the same down range trajectory as the lighter bullet in the 6.5. May change a bit at 900 yards and of course 7 bullet retains more energy. The PRC’s I own are super accurate and I think that’s a common theme. I went thru same debate as you but I was considering a 300 PRC.

I would say, find the rifle you like, buy it in .300 win., 7Rem Mag, or even the old .280 Remington. A 1970's or early 1980's Remington 700 with that beautiful wood in a 7 rem mag, whew.

You’re honestly probably fine with the .308 or .270, but for the new options you listed, you could flip a coin and be good either way. Just use a good bullet.
