Intesting discussion (i did not read all) but nobody ever mentions that the whole point is to use ar 15 with several shots

Thank goodness you joined today and made this post. After reading through over 13,000 posts I had personally failed to realize the entire point of this thread was to use an AR-15 and shoot as many rounds as you can to put an animal down. Thanks for clarifying that for the group.
 
Yeah, the splits on a bill drill with an AR are pretty unimpressive compared to a bolt gun ;)

I’m not much of a banana split guy, I’m more of a bananas foster sort. And Bill’s drill you say? 🤔

All jokes aside, I do have a great little S&W AR. It’s set up with flip ups and a green dot holosun.

But seriously, get a Tikka.

All clear for me now several shots from 223 will probably do same as a 180 grain at 3000 feet from what ever
