.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

If they can see a tiny piece of blue tape they should be dead.
Like goose hunting. Dudes worry about the smallest dumbest things flaring the birds like empty shotgun shells or other stuff. If they're that close to notice you should be blasting away.

Twas a joke. Figured someone on here would pick up that bread crumb.

I remember that. Didn't Jeff o have something to do with it? I know he was the one that kept wanting stick to post his load...lol.

That was probably about the same time I had this 250AI but for my wife. 2008-2010'ish maybe.

Thats a fantastic pic.

Yep, that was JeffO’s thread, he didn’t want a shining blue beacon pointed at a deer from the end of the barrel before the shot……

And yep, he wanted Stick to post his 708/162 Amax load IIRC.

Pretty sure there was a link put up on ARAIG not too terribly many years ago to that thread.

After that, everyone inundated the thread with pics of dead deer next blue stocked rifles, blue plaid jackets, blue jeans….

Come to think of it, until I knew better about decent hunting clothes, I hunted in blue jeans and my old combat boots.

I think its time to build a 22 Creedmoor.

Makes me laugh just thinking about it.
And you need a 22 Creed.

223 75 gr. Gold Dot this time. 125 yards facing my right slight quartering away, Bullet hit just under the edge of the shoulder blade just about in the middle of it's length, traveled through and broke 3 ribs making a just under 3" hole before it blasted through the bottom half of the spine doing damage to the top of the right side lung. It traveled through 6 inches of spine making a 2 inch tunnel, then breaking two ribs and making a thumb sized hole heading into the front of the shoulder blade. My hands were bloody, it was late and I was beat so I didn't skin and remove the shoulder to find the bullet. It did not make it to the hide or I would have cut it out. There appeared to be no fragmentation as I found no pieces and damage was sort of a tunnel effect. It was too warm to let him hang overnight so I took him to the cooler at the processor last night. I took a picture of the lung damage this morning.

Good damage to the top of the right lung and the meat under the neck.

Here he is hanging.

At the shot he dropped and made no movement. All in all can't complain.
