4, 10’s Rotating Weekends

That's a good schedule for a maintenance job I've been doing this for 20 years and only got a 4-10 mon-thurs about 4 years ago

Ive had fri-sat-sun off 4/10 for years. You more tired working 4/10s but its the best schedule going. Oh and I telework Mondays. Pull about 105k a year, it works.

Sounds like a sweet schedule, the short weekend every other week could suck. I have the Fri-Mon weekend every week and it works out nice for hunting. If I take a “week” off of work I actually get 11 straight days

I do 2 days on, 2 off, 2 nights, 2 off, 2 days etc. 12hr days
Id kill for 4x 10s, hell id even do 4x 12s.

Night Shift sucks the big one and the sooner I boot it, the happier and healthier I'll be.

As others have said, definitely depends on your family situation.
If the $$ is good, its so much easier to get stuff done when everyone else is at work and youre just free to do your sh!t

I have been on multiple different shifts over the last 30 years including 12 hr night/day rotation.
I have been on 4 10s m-f for the last 8 years.
My favorite hands down.
Wouldn’t be hard for me to ever go back to anything else unless it was 3 10s!
I have no desire to have any less than three days off a week.

4 10’s sounds pretty good. I have never worked that but wish I had. I have done mostly 14 days on 7 off and have done 6 on three off, 30 on 28 off, 10 on 4 off, 11 on 3 off, 15 on 6 off, all were 24 hour on call away from home.

I have an opportunity to go to 12s. 2 on 2 off 3 on. then 3 off the following weekend. Basically have a 3 day weekend off every other week with a couple days off during the week. 6am.6pm.

Sounds like a pretty sweet schedule. Im currently working 4 -10s ( when I dont get called in on my days off 😆) I like it.

I just got promoted and am moving positions. My new schedule will be 12 hour days. 4 on 3 off and then 3 on 4 off the next week. I worked that schedule for 10 years before. It has it pros and cons, but man those 4 days off are (chef's kiss)

The outfit I used to work for did 9-80 sch. with every other Friday off. The only compliant from the guys on it was when taking PTO it was 9 hrs at a time. So do the math 45 hours PTO used for a week off. Of course the week that you are off on Friday, 36 hrs PTO. I never worked it because the maintenance people had to be there 24 seven. Of course the overtime was based on anything worked over 9 hrs not 8 hrs.

I work 4-10s. It’s pretty awesome having a 3 day weekend, every weekend. I get my day started much earlier than most, so I’m off at a normal time. Home everyday around 1630. Still gives me plenty of time in the evenings to have a normal life on the days I work.

I work m-th 4/10 and will often work Friday from 5am-noon. I like my 3 day weekends....but I can pick up an extra K by working that Friday.....which I typically don't do in summer or hunting season.

I’m currently on a 4/10 work week, 0600-1600 hrs and rotate between mon-thurs and thurs-sun every three months. I’ve also worked a 5/8 schedule and a rotating 12hr schedule, and have done swings and nights.

The 4/10 is amazing and I would never go back. Every weekend is a three day weekend, you still have plenty of day to spend with the family after a 10, and when you rotate to days off separate from the wife you have plenty of time for house projects, hunting, or fishing.
