.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

What is the most cost effective training bullet for reloading? I’ve been shooting the 55gr vmax since I got my Tikka, it’s been accurate and was consistently hitting an 8” gong at 400 with it today, but I’m concerned shooting much further than that it will be a hindrance. Or will the lower BC make me better at wind calls? Obviously I’d like to shoot the tmk but that’s a little more than I’m wanting to spend.

77gr factory seconds from Midway are pretty cheap.

For an all around trainer the 69gr rocky mounting reloading bullet is awesome. We’ve got it out to 500 shooting at rocks and rock chucks consistently.

You can get cheaper as exhibited but ELDs are usually available for $0.25/ea which seems pretty economical. The 73s seem to be a better fit than 75s for factory tikkas.
