I'll have to double check. But I'm pretty sure it was 24.2gr h4895 with Fed AR Match primers.
And in Lapua neck sized brass.
The lot Of lapua brass had more volume than most my other brass.
It was a really hot load in some nosler brass but was reasonable in the Lapua.
Nice. 77 TMK?

Sure is!
I've got the 60 TMK I use in some 9twist bolt action 223s and it's done very good on coyotes.
Couldn't get the 69tmk to shoot too good in bolt action or AR's.
The 77tmk seems to be pretty forgiving on seating depth and powder charge. With H4895 I can vary the charge 0.2 grains and the group size doesn't change at all. So I loaded a bunch on the dillon 550.

Promo code P250220 will take off 8% if you buy atleast 2 pounds. Also active junky has 3% cash back. It still came out to $160.00 for 2 pounds for me after shipping and hazmat. I dont need it that bad so I passed.

Regardless of what bullet you use in .223 the possibility of a blood trail is very random, but less likely with the 77TMK. There is no .223 bullet that Ive used (most of the bullets mentioned in this thread and more) that will reliably leave a good blood trail. Ive shot 56 deer this year and only a few would have been trackable through a blood trail. If the bullet is too hard you get a small exit and no blood, and if too soft no exit and no blood. The best for blood (but not necessarily killing) have been mid weight lead tip like 62grn Norma (very similar to 62 grn Sierra Game King) and 60 grn Hammers (driven very fast).
56 as fifty six!?

My man, I'm jealous. Imagine all them backstraps 😍

Final tally was 74 deer for the year. 12 so far this year. Majority with .223. Most of the deer go to a couple of charities, but I do keep the back steaks for ourselves and friends.

This was the last one. Some of the meat collecting is done at night. 80 yards. Too easy. 80 grn Berger custom.

The best 223 bullet for penetration I have ever seen was the nosler 64 gr trophy bonded bear claw out of the FBI duty load. It is barrier blind and just keeps going.

It looks like a little hard cast 45-70 the way it penetrates everything and never turns right or left.

I would shoot elk with it no problem.

That's some good info on that bullet.

However, the point of this whole thread is that if your shooting animals with a small bullet and want them to die quickly, it needs to fragment and create larger wound channel throughout the chest cavity.

A 2"- 4" wound cavity that only goes to the opposite side of the rib cage is better than a .75" wound cavity that goes all the way through and continues on to use its enrgy to put a hole in the dirt behind the animal.

Does anyone have a verified BC from drops out to 600 for the Hornady 75 bthp w cannelure?
Drops are basically only verified by you in your gun. Barrels differ, and muzzle velocity is the baseline. You can get pretty close by shooting at various distances, plugging the info in an app to fill in the blanks.

Not asking for drops. Asking for a verified BC as a starting point. The BC AAC lists is 3.98, which is actually Hornady's 75 bthp match (no cannelure). Tech on the phone told me there wouldn't be much difference.

I should note this is AAC's 5.56 75bthp, so about 2641 avg from my 16" barrel

I think you are talking about a different bullet. Nosler doesn’t make the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw bullet.
