2026 Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

I am not taking it personal I am just stating a fact of you said he should make the judgement call- and he did- and you don’t agree with that judgement call so you’re turning into a headache- personally I really don’t care if I have to DQ or not- if that’s what it is then that’s what it is and I won’t have any hard feelings over it, but you’re the one making this harder than it needs to be

As far as time consuming this would have been a dead issue when he made the judgement call had you not questioned it. That’s where the time consuming part comes in.

I don’t care either way- I don’t think Justin sided with me just because I can shoot- that’s a pretty silly assumption

I am not going to put anymore time or effort into discussing this. If I am out then I am out and good luck to everyone else.

Are you even entered in the challenge?

I don’t see your post if so- seems like you’ve just been lurking on the Q&A thread

He's a moderator so its expected for him to lurk and manage this. I think he's been involved every year of the CBC. He is just trying to keep everyone on the same page as far as the rules that were established prior to the start.

I really like the data that comes from "no re-shoots". I want to hear about people's misses. For me, that's what separates this from the rest of the noise on the internet where every rifle is MOA or better, and everyone shoots as good in the field as they do at the bench. Just my take.
I agree
It feels a lot different laying down to shoot with 1 cartridge, even with nobody standing behind you. More like the real thing. Anyone can “walk” one on to the target, it’s another thing to get the wind call right and execute the shot with no “Mulligan”.
Along with more and more practice, the CBC has helped me come up with a realistic MER on game. Not only from my own shooting, but from observing other people’s hits and misses. I’ve come to count in the “**** happens” factor when deciding to shoot or not.
