Won’t work. Round peg, square hole. All I know is I’m committed to watching @lak2004 videos because I want to see him put one through the square hole on his plate.
The first 5 posts in the thread are information/sponsor/mod posts. With the first “shot” post being #6 it looks like we only have 7 shooter slots left?
Oh hell, now I've got peer pressure and anticipation to help me out tomorrow! All I know is I’m committed to watching @lak2004 videos because I want to see him put one through the square hole on his plate.

With my Athlon spotter, not sure anyone would be able to tell!If you go clean through that I vote you get to pick a prize.
I had one of those Athlon spotters too and never understood why everyone loved them. It’s not terrible for a $400 spotter but it’s a major and very noticeable step down in glass quality from the alphas. With my Athlon spotter, not sure anyone would be able to tell!
It's works ok for spotting animals but i agree, someday I'll upgrade to a swaro.I had one of those Athlon spotters too and never understood why everyone loved them. It’s not terrible for a $400 spotter but it’s a major and very noticeable step down in glass quality from the alphas.
Tried this last weekend but I might be misunderstanding. Are you dialing the focus on the spotter or the phone?A trick to phone scoping is taking away the phones ability to autofocus. It’s a nightmare.
I slap my phone on the spotter, dial the focus completely to one extreme side. For some reason this paralyzes the phones auto focus. Then bring the focus on the spotter back in JUST enough for a crisp image. The phone will NEVER try to auto focus it if you do that.
If you leave the focus on the spotter somewhere in the middle (like where it would be in focus to your eye), the phone with constantly try and autofocus the image, and never get it right it seems.
I was referring the focus on the spotter. If that isn’t working, something is just off with your attachment system unfortunatelyTried this last weekend but I might be misunderstanding. Are you dialing the focus on the spotter or the phone?
I dialed the STC all the way counterclockwise and clockwise but couldn't get a focused image. Didn't see a way on the iPhone camera to manually dial focus.
I don't struggle with focus at all with the camera, I focus the spotter the best I can with my eye and slap the camera on, tap the target or animal for the auto focus to clear up and we're usually in business.Tried this last weekend but I might be misunderstanding. Just did some googling and found that. I'll have to give it a try this weekend. If you touch and hold the phone screen you can turn on the AE/AF lock feature (auto exposure/auto focus lock). This turns off the autofocus so you can just use the scope focus knob without the phone autofocus fighting you.

I'm wading thru the posts a few a day because last year I waited until the end and it felt like work. How many of those have taken their second shot?
My reading of the rules, you need both shots taken to be qualified?
