First mule deer hunt was a success. Learned so much from lurking these forums, so thanks! Lots of scouting paid off and got it done on opening morning. 155 yards and gave me all day to get steady. Happy with my first ever mule deer!

Only one tag in our family this year for NV. My 13 yr old got his first tag and we hunted every weekend until the end. Lots of miles on the boots and he didn’t complain. A few hiccups and learning moments for him and myself, but in the end on the 2nd to last day, he made a great 242 yard shot on this buck.

Second season Colorado buck. Picked up a reissue tag in a unit I'd never deer hunted before and got lucky on day 7.

Here’s my NE WA OTC buck. I began getting pictures of this buck in May and got to watch him grow throughout the summer. He hit my cam once in June, once in July, and once in Sept. I had 10 other cams out for him in a 1 mile radius but he somehow found a way to avoid all of them. As you can see from the background, he was living in some thick lodgepole and it was hard to be quiet. I hunted him in archery and muzzleloader and never even saw a buck, let alone him. Opening day I found some fresh rubs on the way back to the truck and decided I would come back and still hunt that part of the ridge. On the last day it paid off and I ended up shooting him at 32yds. I put my first round through both lungs, which dropped him and I put one more in his neck to make sure he didn’t go anywhere and died quickly. He is my fourth Muley and my best scoring buck, I and my taxidermist rough scored him at 189 and 190”.
