Nice catches all.
I have a big cayote problem but can't seem to trap any. I've setup on fence lines mainly and center of log roads on edges of thickets. I have mainly tried to get them using dirt holes with scents and bait in the holes. Is this the right method or should i be trying something else? I don't have any issue catching non target species like possums and skunks...lol

If you can use snares, they're great for coyotes. If not, find trails and blind sets right on the foot track run can be productive when they won't hit baited sets, no lure, nothing. Otherwise just make sure your traps are clean, bedded really good, setback at the right distance, and wait. If you have lots of traps, I would try a couple different types of bait, sometimes throwing something different at them can spark their interest.

Good luck, and keep on trying!

@go_deep. Thanks for the advice. Yes, we can use snares with the proper training but I don't have that training yet so I've been trying foot holds mainly. I got them bedded really good and setback with some sticks in front of a few that they have to step over and onto the trap (nothing big...just a little stick). I think I'm doing a good job keeping everything scent free and tried a verity of lures and baits. I haven't tried the trail one so I'll give that a shot. I have an idea where the 2 dens are but I've been trying to keep my distance from them.

Night 32.

I picked up a coon in one of the hotter sets with multiple catches. I haven't seen a sow in a while. I'm thinking these are travelling males based on observations from my tent this weekend and the rut is on.

I had an interesting "steal" nearby where the foam pad was removed out from under the pan. I tested the pan and it sprung like crazy.

I reset it with smoky nuggets covered with wool and I put lure on the stick I used to stuff the wool and left it sticking up out of the hole. I'm trying some new stuff this weekend.

I have skunk bait on the amazon truck headed this way too. I hope the driver is OK!
