the year end for me- goals were hit and exceeded, so no complaints :)

December saw 115 miles and 24,700' of ascent for a final tally of 1887 miles and 435,400' of ascent. Several days it was just too cold to get out hiking (we've been 30-40 degrees below normal for most of the month), but can't stay frigid forever!

I did do a good job with getting back on track strength training- didn't miss a single lift (twice a week) for the entire month.

I retired a couple of days ago, so going to bump up mileage goal for next year. Not going to keep track of elevation next year, too much of a pain in the a$$! It'll be in the ballpark of this year anyways.

Happy New Year Gents

My 2021 stats:

1170 running/hiking miles
106,132 feet elevation gain
78 summits
18,432 pushups
3,650 pullups

Missed my mileage goal but hit the others. I definitely feel the reduced mileage—my wife took another job so I was in charge of mornings with my kids, less time for working out and no more biking to work. But it was a good year overall. On to 2022!

Here's my final numbers.

Trail running Miles: 1,020.5
Hiking Miles: 191
Mountain Biking Miles: 339.5
Total Trail Miles for 2021: 1,551 so I met my goal of 1,500 for the year.
Total Elevation gain: 233,600

It was a good year overall with some great memories made on the trail. I'm going to have to adjust my goals for 2022 as I can foresee more mountain biking this year with My son progressing in that sport. It will likely mean less running miles and more miles overall, but we'll see how it goes.

Well done to all those who consistently kept at it in 2021 and met their goals, on to 2022!
