Got my general season bull down. Brutal pack out. He was playing with the mountain goats. Luckily his horn got trapped under a big rock and kept him from rolling a few hundred yards down a mean rock/boulder slide. Had to tie him up to keep him put while I boned him out. Great times with my wife and father in law. God bless America and the opportunity we have here to enjoy our public lands!!1004141054.jpg1004141006.jpg1004141000b.jpg

Wow what a season! Couldn't get it done in September so I went back with my wife for rifle season. She wanted to pack in so we did. Ended up killing my first elk 6-7 miles from the road! I forgot to tell the wife how big they are;) in so lucky to have her. She was a trooper!

Some great looking bulls so far. Really making me wish I wasn't at school and was back in Montana roaming the hills.

Some amazing bulls taken by some dedicated hunters! It's no easy feat for sure. Seems that I'm not the only one on this thread that harvested their first ever elk this season. Congrats to all!

As always DIY, public land. Shot this bull at 45 yards on Day 8. Seen some much bigger bulls, but it was time for meat in the freezer. Wyoming.
