2014 Elk Meatpole

MT General Tag 6x6... Epic weekend, dropped two bulls 6-7 miles up from the truck and had them out 27-28 hrs later. Brutal pack out. Here's my bull, first elk ever at that!

Man o man nice job to all the lucky hunters. I hope that you guys didn't kill'em all. I head out in 8 days. I hope I can at least match you guys. Ok, I just hope to see one. great job folks

Congrats to all the successful hunters!
Got my first bull, on our 3rd CO OTC hunt. 2nd time to this unit, the familiarity paid off.
Called this bull up out of a wallow and poked an FMJ thru him @ 26yds...

After packing my bull out, we had three days of GREAT action! Both of my hunting partners had multiple opportunities on big bulls, one was a real slammer! Was a treat to be able to call for my buddies the rest of the week, really enjoyed the close calls & incredible bugling action!

1st elk for me. Satellite 5x5. Cow called him off the herd.

Great trophies everyone.

Scottiem, wow, he sure is an old campaigner that bull, you have done well to nail such a wise animal for your first. Lots of character there, great stuff.

Holey crap, some excellent OTC bulls!!!
Great to see that you guys have found trophies like that on public land, congrats again!!!

Great bulls everyone. I sure do enjoy seeing first time success coming from so many guys as well as the ole vets continuing to put their experience to work. No doubt an abundance of sweat, miles and time not revealed in these success pictures by everybody as well as the pictures to come. I was fortunate enough to connect on this heavy public land bull in thick western MT at 15 yards one night in mid September. It was bitter sweet after a LONG exhausting and disappointing day afield to run into this guy and his cows not far from where I initially started earlier that day.

My New Mexico bull from last week. One brow tine went 16 3/4 inches. Used a Kimber Montana, .308Win. and a 165 Accubond at 85 yards

My Idaho bull; first ever elk kill.
