2014 Colorado Deer Draw is over - Backdoor open

I have a question. This was my first year applying for Colorado and when I go to try and check if I have a point it tells me it's not available for 2014??? Any thoughts ?

When do the refund checks typically mail out for deer and sheep in CO? I can't remember from last year... And could sure use that $2300 back right about now...

Sheep and goat should be in the mail this week, moose should be next week and deer elk and antelope are usually the second week in June I believe.

As far as refunds, if you selected to participate in the Leftover Draw, you wont get a refund until that is over and the remaining goes on sale to the public.

If you DIDNT select the Leftover draw, you will get your refund mailed:

Bear - May 19
Moose - May 20
Deer - June 5
Elk - June 16
Pronghorn - June 26

Somehow , I did not draw. I must have just missed it. Now will be looking for another landpwner to buy like last year.

I heard there is a flaw in checking the backdoor for deer. If you show a point, thought you were a slam dunk and are scratching your head as to how you didn't draw. There may still be hope.

I just went to the DOW web site, and found this. Probably what everybody is talking about. Maybe some of us still have hope.

Please note: preference points and draw results are not official until May 15 for Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, and Mountain Goat and until May 30 for Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, Bear, and Moose and changes can still occur up and until that point. If you see discrepancies with your results on or after those dates, please contact CPW.

I also read about a glitch on another forum. Guy says he put in with 8 points on a five point unit and didn't draw so he called cpw and they told him the backdoor isn't reliable this year. that a computer glitch took points and added points whether you drew a tag or not. Some people got two deer points added!

I hope so. I really wanted that buck tag, but my odds were only 70%, so I wasn't too surprised when I got a point.

so just rechecked the backdoor and my entire list of points is gone! all looked good yesterday...
