Colorado Mule Deer Hunt

Looking for a 2027 Colorado Mule Deer Rifle Hunt so I am starting the process now. I’m aware that regulations as well as herd conditions changes annually. I’m currently booked for a 2026 Elk hunt in Idaho. I also have 17 points and would like to go to a premium unit such as Gunnison, but with the current regulations and point creep I’m starting to feel that this is nearly impossible. At the same time, I do not want to waste them either.

In the grand schemes of things, I also feel that I have about 15 good years of mountain hunting left so part of me thinks that I need to use them now and have 2 or 3 quality hunts instead of one hunt that may ever pan out due to the process.

So I’m open to suggestions on units and guides. Also, this can be an early or late season hunt, packing in for a week would also be great!

Likewise, I also have 17 points for elk.

We don't talk units on the forum. 17 years is plenty of time to figure that out.
With that many points, you should have some quality options for 3rd season. 4th season draw odds are much steeper. Pick a unit you'll be able to draw and go scout it for the next two years during that season.
