I currently have a 15d bag that I use for summer camping/backpacking and archery season. I don't have a cold weather bag yet- I have always done my big trips in September and just did day hunts in rifle season. I want to change that and spend more time in the woods for rifle season.

So what would temp would people recommend for late October / November hunts in Montana? I'm currently looking at a 0d or -20d Slick Bag. Thanks.

Kifaru -20 degree slick bag looks great. I sleep colder so I'd pick that one.

Then again, the 0 degree bag may be fine if your sleeping pad has a high R-Value.

A -20 wouldn't be bad in November, sometimes I wish I had one. 15 to 0 isn't much gain if your a cold sleeper, I would think 15 and -20 would be a better pair to have.

I'll be ordering a -20 degree Slick Bag very soon. I need something for November in MT that's going to keep me warm for once. :)

Don't forget a sleeping pad with a high R value, its just as important as a good bag in the single digits ;)
Or put a foam pad under your air mattress

Thanks for the input guys. Sounds like I should go with a -20d.

Rizzy, my UL 7 pad has an R value of just over 3, not bad but not great, so I may look into other options or double up with my old Thermarest. Thanks for the heads up.
