Howa Mini Rifles, Builds, and Upgrades

Brownells has barreled actions on sale. The 6arc with sale + code triggered is $405

Seen that and tried ordering 1 to send to a smith. Wouldn’t let me ship to his state for some reason. I’m assuming no sales tax. Would let me ship to Idaho just fine.

So I ended up with a CF barreled 6.5 Grendel instead.

Stocky’s, GY6 DBM, and barreled action all came in. What’s everyone using to relieve the barrel channel a little bit? Dremmel? Anyone cut the length of pull on a CF stock?IMG_0495.jpeg

That looks super slick.
I ordered a 22arc today, ETA currently unknown. price was very nearly double what was mentioned above (AUD is a b!tch)

On the plus side I have a ton of time to piece together the "build". Hopefully will be my Christmas present for this year 🤣

That is a B**** lmao. I probably have "double" into this after all the discounts.

Also, FWIW, I am not sure if none of you have shot Savages lately, but the bolt lift is a none issue. Trigger is pretty good and even my 12-year-old commented on how easy the bolt was to lift compared to his creed.

I'm in Aus too. Who did you order it through? I see Brownells Australia is listing them now.

I have a 7.62x39 I was going to rebarrel with a swan barrel in a Douglas featherweight contour, then put it in a carbon stockys sporter through OSA but they're $950aud just for the stock now. By the time I pay my smith to chamber the swan in 6arc and buy the stock I'll be $2k AUD in the hole. May as well just order one and hope for the best.

The barn @oakey.
You can do a backorder on the 22arc, the 6 is not even a thought. But there's no ETA on the 22arc yet.
They also do the stockys sporter for $749 i believe.
I still have to pay for postage from QLD to SA too 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

The only available 22 or 6 arcs i can see are the ruger american gen 2s. Which i could probably get down with if you could get a stockys for them. The stock options are 💩 for the rugers

Im strongly considering just doing a 1/8 tikka 22-250 with factory barrel rechambered to a 22 creed and a 1/8 tikka 243 factory barrel rechambered to 6 creed for not much more money than a howa build and then just wait til the howa minis show up (if they show up anytime soon)

Assuming it's not just your thicker barrel that's the issue, I found that bedding mine straightened it out. When I just set the action in the stock everything seemed to line up nicely, but once I torqued it down it pulled to the side.
