Skill, not stuff 2026 challenge

Shot 3 10 round groups at 100 today. All prone with a bipod and no rear bag.m. I’m still a newer shooter so just focusing on fundamentals like consistent trigger pressure, focusing on the reticle, and pulling through. Haven’t shot in over a year so not a bad way to get back into it. Made some small adjustments to my scope also. My last group (upper right) was solid until I had two flyers which is when i ended ny session. Overall just happy to get out there and now gonna work to close up my groups.
In two weeks gonna try and get out again and shoot from a seated position

I like to get a couple hundred rounds through new ar15 uppers before starting load development. I’ve been using those break in rounds to shoot Forms positional test.

Shooting semi auto with 3moa m193 reloads isn’t perfect for practice for my bolt action rifles, but I feel like it’s been more beneficial than firing these from the bench. Im blaming those misses on the 2moa dot from prone on the m193 reloads :)

Got out after doing a 3-way scope swap. Got them dialed in on the bench, then 10 rounds with each prone on a pack. Bench shooting is officially boring now after a few months of mostly positional practice.

Shot two groups of 10 & 15. I honestly hadn’t shot seated before so it was interesting & I think my Harris bipod may be too tall for me (13.5-27” model). Regardless 2nd group is circled in silver and i dropped my reticle .4 mil. Shot at 100 yards.

I ended up shooting with my backpack in lap and two shooting bags under my elbows. If i had my K4 i think i coulda got by without the bags!

Love this idea. I’m admittedly a gear guy and I’ve spent more time, money, and energy on researching, buying, upgrading, and swapping new gear than I have hunting and shooting.

I just hit a point where my pack is plenty light, my weapons are deadly, and everything works, and any upgrades I do now are not going to significantly improve my chances of killing game. Time to stop the mental masturbation and lock in on what matters.

All this being typed while in my waiting period to pick up my new Seekins 7mm PRC… haha
