Continental TerrainContact on my 14 f150. Needed something as much for snow as for mud and light off-road. They are not super aggressive but have been decent. Seem to be wearing faster than I expected.
Bring a 5/6 weight and fish the Pere Marquette river up towards Baldwin. Not prime time but worth trying. Terrestrials, streamers, nymphs, maybe an early morning hatch.

These two are very accurate in my 30-06 and 7mm-08 and are available and should be good elk medicine
This thread might be the craziest thread on RS in ages…murder hornets, Costco chicken supply chains, hiring practices of Chick-fil-A, and random jackwagons bragging about how they hope to contribute to the next covid surge. Rock on!
Midway makes a pair of pants under their own brand that are actually pretty nice. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1022356122
I also bought some Grundens fishing pants that are great.
Look at the Barnes or Hornady monoflex loads. SST are accurate but blow up even on whitetails, so I’d be leery of them on elk. I’ve had good luck with the Barnes in my slug gun (12 gauge, 2.75) and muzzleloader. I’d say 150 yards max and ideally more like 125.
Make sure you wear polypro or similar liners under good (but not too thick) wool socks. The liners will keep your feet dry and do as much or more to keep your feet warm than insulated boots.
Haven’t tried the terminal ascent in my 30-06 but I also got poor groupings from the federal trophy bonded tip in 165. Maybe 2” groups at 100 yd. Got excellent groups from both Barnes lrx in 175 and sig copper in 150 both around an inch at 200 yds.
I hate our mattresses. Several years ago I bought a Cabela’s foam pad double width that my wife and I use one tent camping and it works great in the back of my truck. You might also be able to find a piece of dense furniture foam at Joanne fabrics that would make a good pad for your truck
If you don’t have to carry it you still can’t go wrong with a north face VE25 or mountain 25. I also second the Trango. These are true mountaineering tents will plenty of room. Please refrain from using this as an opportunity to attack me over north face.
Oh, and re pain…the pain during PT was intense. Probably due to me being a scar tissue building machine. Those PT sadists were hardcore about breaking scar tissue and getting range of motion. Otherwise there was some pain especially if you bumped it or trying to turn in your sleep but pretty...
I had a similar tear requiring a bone anchor. I needed a second surgery to clean out scar tissue so my recovery was a bit longer. I would say it was a full year before I had 100% strength and range of motion. My suggestion is to ice like crazy for weeks after surgery, do all the little exercises...
If I understand your question, you’re asking about wiping down gear that you can’t soak or wash in a machine. I use household cleaning wipes like Clorox or Costco wipes. Make sure they are bleach-free. Wipe down well with those then wipe again with water. Reapply dwr spray if needed. I second...
I’ve got a nef single shit here somewhere, smooth cylinder bore with open sights. If I can find a flighcontrol wad or similar to pattern, that would be light and simple.
