Budget ball head for glassing and shooting

Arctise 52 or the Desmond Dlow 55 are solid.

    Lets talk predator calls--

I've been around the Foxpro X24 and Lucky Duck Super Revolt a lot. The Lucky Duck Roughneck a little and the Icotech Outlaw a little. The FP and both LD's are pretty solid. I was not a fan of the Icotech. It sounded like garbage. Probably that specific call but it's the only one I've personally...

Factory Rifle that likes 77gr TMK?

    Agreed. It’s getting ridiculous.

Tripod for Shooting 300 Yards and Under?

The BOG isn’t horrible. A buddy did strip the pan screw pretty easily though. If you get the BOG definitely get the ball head. The Innorel RT90c is pretty dang stout. You would have to add a rail to your rifle, or add a ballhead and clamp. There is a possibility the level head would work fine...

Factory Rifle that likes 77gr TMK?

I doubt it really matters for what you want to use it for. Most of the reports I’ve seen both are usually accurate. I don’t like the stock on the Ruger myself. And there are probably a few more aftermarket options for the Howa. But if keeping it completely stock I would pick the one you like best.

    Chassis for winter hunting?

I’ve hunted down to -33 ambient with a metal chassis and had zero issues. For myself and the people I’ve hunted with it’s never been an issue.

    Best OTC/Freelance States/Hunts for 2024. Quick Opinions?

I’ll send you a PM with a few ideas. A lot of the big game hunting in the west is closed by the end of November beginning of December except doe/cow hunts.

    Bolt vs Semi for Coyote/Thermal

I like bolt actions if hunting with others. It’s quieter to load on stand. I don’t like walking in the dark with loaded rifles and multiple people. If hunting solo I will load the rifle at the truck so it’s a non issue. If you have lots of multiples and can shoot running coyotes an AR is better.

    Washington High Buck

Sort of. There will be crowded spots just to the west of the PCT also. Get a couple trailheads west of the crest and I would guess there is a lot less hunting pressure.

    The 22 creedmoor thread

I ordered another 338 Ultra for my other 22 Creed so I don’t have to swap back and forth. The wife and kid both shot antelope with the Creed a week or two ago. 85.5 Bergers @3060 FPS. Same performance I’ve seen from larger caliber Bergers on big game.

Does anyone use a thermal while scanning before switching to traditional optics?

I love the "my tech is fine but your tech is for losers" types. If 50% of hunters were allowed the use of a thermal with a traditional bow as their weapon, and 50% were allowed to use a rifle but no thermal. I wonder which group would kill more animals? I'm betting on the rifle hunters with...

What's a good public land whitetail state in the midwest?

Western SD is easier to draw for a whitey rifle tag and it can definitely be spot and stalk.

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Got one ordered up with a couple bushings. Hopefully after the first firing if I don't full length size I can push it a little more without pressure signs. I do have a bunch of H4350. I tried it in my faster twist Creed with 80+ grain bullets and I wasn't impressed. I'll try it with these...

    I don’t see a 22 Creed. So I’m assuming you used a 6/6.5 Creed die with .22 cal bushing?
