    What have you bought recently?

I must have about enough. Didn't even look at the Labor Day sales ads as I couldn't think of anything to buy after going full tilt for several years straight. After a while, should have about enough. Did buy a couple guns.... maybe more. Lots of bullets, powder, shot and primers. Between...

NIB Remington 700 Classic 35 Whelen

Cool gun. I should buy it...... but the safe is full and I wouldn't shoot it anyway. Will be a nice collector piece imo someday. Good luck with the sale. Somebody is going to like this one.

    Model 70 Extreme Weather SS

I think that you need to compare apples to apples. Not sure that this would be the place to stop, but at least something to consider when looking at extreme weather rifles: http://www.chuckhawks.com/choosing_inclement_all-around_rifle.htm Not saying that Chuck is the only authority of extreme...

    Model 70 Extreme Weather SS

Don't know what the difference is in cost between the EW and a Tikka, but by the time you do the upgrades on the Tikka that most of the guys do, why not just buy the EW. It appears that Stid has put his to the test. My personal Model 70 is a Classic SS and has seen a lot of country and has...

    Chronograph recommendations?

I got the same email on the Lab Radar. I don't want to be the guinea pig for the amount of money these cost. Some of my main applications would be 6mm, 22's, 20's and 17's so I'm quite hesitant to spend the money if the software issues haven't been solved. Also, sounds like they aren't ready...

Cecil fallout ... How do we prevent more negative impact?

The anti's found a perfect opportunity to jump on a situation that could be painted in a way to make the hunting community look bad, regardless of what the truth is. The damage has been done and the truth is immaterial as the most of the people have made up there mind. As an attorney, I don't...

    New to Me Cooper

I think that they are gone now, but Cabelas had the big 7mm LR Accubonds in stock and on the 25% off sale when I looked last night. Too dumb to pick any up, but really didn't have a need for them.

Cabela's Nosler ammo and reloading component 25% discount

Cabelas is running a pretty good discount on Nosler ammo and reloading components. Worth checking out if you need something. With the discount, the prices are pretty competitive.

    New to Me Cooper

I know that you don't need a bigger bullet for deer as a 140 is plenty big. Are you planning on trying any 160+ grain bullets as your BC's are quite a bit better? There are some dynamite 162, 168, 175 grain bullets out there as well as others. BTW, I do like the group that the 58's had. Hard...

Flying with guns.. Could use some experienced advice!

You have gotten plenty of good advice here already, but I will add my 2 cents. When I was in Alaska hunting, another guy in camp brought a handgun, rifle and a bow. He put all in a double bow case and got along fine. Just make sure that whatever you do meets the TSA and airline requirements...

    Shrek's New 7mm WSM Build

Have you tracked any brass down yet? Still keeping my eyes open when I'm on the net or in a store. Looking forward to this missile launcher being done before hunting season.

    Crossfit specific shoes

I've used Nano 3's and am using Nano 4's. I have a set of Nano 5's in reserve when I get sick of and/or tired of the 4's. I like the idea of the lifter shoes and a few of the guys are using them for lifting days. I carry a pair of Brooks PureFlows at all times for the days that we are going...

Am I the only test dummy on site?

Too bad Cooper isn't offering the 26 and 28 Noslers with their barrel replacement policy.

Am I the only test dummy on site?

I'm with KMD. This caliber was designed to be a rocket. The only way to find out is to load it hard. Don't expect terribly long barrel life, but the real question becomes as to how many times are you going to need to shoot it once you have your load developed. Frankly, once its set, only...

Am I the only test dummy on site?

I'm having a real hard time not buying the same gun, or..... maybe..... the 28 Nosler. Looking forward to seeing how you get along with the gun. Thank you for being the test dummy.

    Region g unit 144

Congratulations on the tag. Not very many tags (or deer), but the opportunities for a big one are there. I spent a week with Reed Dalton chasing mountain lions in unfavorable lion hunting conditions on the Henrys. The deer can be anywhere, but there are "favorites" that many of the...

    Cooper model 52 long range

Nice looking setup. My father-in-law is getting closer to using the rebarrel option on his Model 21 in a 223. Should have kept track of the bullet count as it has been a lot. Still shoots great, just not quite as good as when new. The 52 in a 28 Nosler sounds awesome.

    Reload misfire help!

I looked at the photos this morning and just looked at them again. Unless there is an optical illusion, the bullet isn't seated near as far on the hand loaded round and the shoulder definitely looks sets back further. Brass on fired round appears to be quite a bit longer. I will defer to...

    Idaho unit 11 tag!!

Short of some of the Alberta and Montana tags, the unit 11 (Hell's Canyon) sheep tag is one of the best Rocky tags on the planet. Hunt it on your own or with your friends if you want, but this is not a tag to squander. Truly a "once in the Lifetime" tags. Congratulations!!!!!! Best advice I...
