Honestly I've played this game of ultra high BC bullets at max velocity to cheat the wind.
Ultimately I can't outshoot a bullet with even 6-8" more drift at 1k, a bad wind call is a bad wind call there's really no way around it.
Any bullet with a bc near .7 at 2800 + will do well in the wind...
I'll give you my input having gone down this road already.
I ran a 7" can on a 24" 30 Nos and it was terrible in the woods, I like to strap it to my pack and it knocked against everything overhead.
If you're hunting 99% wide open country it won't matter, but carrying it around in any type of...
It's around 6lbs 8 oz, I was a bit concerned it'd be a handful, but man it's nothing with that suppressor.
I'm using a factory plastic stock until my Manners Pro Hunter is done, which will be about 5 months 😒
On the topic of "Bro Science" here's how a Nomad LT sounds on a 19" barrel suppressing 85 grains of powder behind a 225.
Recoil is light enough to spot my own shots on 20x at 820.

My advice is go with someone else..
I sent the stock back last summer to have that stock redesigned since it was different than the one we'd discussed.
I'm still waiting for the damn thing 🙄
You're on the right track making suppression a top priority, take it from a guy who started off with a short can, they're a compromise and are no where near hearing safe.
You want volume and good engineering, I have a Nomad LT and it's amazing on my 7-300 wsm, at 8.4" and 12.3 oz it can't be...
From a practical standpoint I'd go 300 wsm, a short 338 gains you nothing, and bullets are twice the price.
But from a want standpoint get whatever excites you the most and have fun
Is good 7mm Rem mag ammo available in Italy loaded with 168 bergers or 162 ELDX?
If not something like the 6.5 prc would be perfect for your ranges and size of game
The key here is you mentioned long range, this is where the heavier for caliber berger and eldms shine.
I don't know what long range means to you but if it involves killing elk or moose sized game beyond 600 yards the 30's and heavy 7s have a distinct advantage.
It sounds like you're looking...
I'm still fire forming, the load I tried with 225 eldms was the third firing on the cases I'm sending in to have my dies made.
I used 79 grains H1000 seated 3.56 oal, haven't chronoed yet but I'll do a little more development this weekend over the chrono.
Check out the Manners MCS Pro Hunter, lots of awesome features in the same price point but at 25 oz.
I spoke with Alterra about their 700 offerings and it's going to be months before they even start taking orders
Funny I'm actually doing load development in my 300 NM ai with 225 eldms at the moment, shooting in the .3s with the first load I tried.
They're absolutely devastating on elk!
My wife completely stoned a cow with a 225 last season, it was a 200 yard double lung but she dropped so fast I thought...
