    Alaska unit 13 caribou closure

Brown bears open year round minus Denali state park. You can shoot 3 black bears in 13 and 5 in 13D. Wolves are 10 a day. Fairly certain they’re shooting wolves out of aircraft still. What else do you want?

    Getting fuel to desolate places…???

You can fly with fuel. Just without passengers on board. Assuming they have the proper license.

    Inquiring minds; air pollution

So you want the US government to manage Canadian forest? Maybe instead of crying about government all day you should get off your ass and do something?

    Planning Family Alaska Trip

Depending on your group size you could try just going down to the spit in Homer. Lots of the shops have boards out front with cancellations or whatever. Room for 1 or 2 and different target fish. Usually halibut/salmon or rockfish. Can’t help you with any specific guides but best of luck.

    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

Statistically speaking four people have a just about zero percent chance of being attacked by a bear.

Want to go caribou hunting someday before I die!

If that was a draw area for caribou what you did was illegal assuming you didn’t have a draw tag. NR basically need two tags. A harvest ticket or draw permit and a metal locking tag. I’m guessing he told you you can use your moose locking tag on a caribou but you’d still need either a harvest...

    Gulkana range

They open fairly soon I believe. Mid May maybe. If you join their club you save like 50 percent on range fees. If you go often it makes sense. I think it’s like 10 bucks regularly and 20 for the 1,000 yard range. It’s a real nice range in my opinion.

    Gulkana range

I’m not familiar with that range. But what about the range on the parks outside Talkeetna? You can shoot out to 1,000.

    Kodiak Deer limit change

Never fails. The dumbest post are always filled with misspellings and general gibberish.

    Bull elk with antlers still

This was from a few years back but middle of May. Somewhere in central Utah.

    0 degree synthetic sleeping bags

Fairly certain I have or had that same bag. I don’t really recall what model it is. Bought it on the way to a spur of the moment hunt. It was the only zero degree bag in sportsmans when we stopped. It’s not very packable in my opinion. But neither are most synthetics in my opinion. It was low...

    Suppressor wait times

Mine took about a month. I bought end of January and certified middle of March. But I was out of town for a few weeks when the dealer called. Then it took about 8 months to pick it up. So you might as well get used to waiting.

    Planning Family Alaska Trip

Little fun factoid for you. The last fatal brown bear mauling in the muni took place a stones throw from your air bnb. They never found the bear either. Anyway that areas super cool. I don’t know what dates your trip is but if I recall the eagle and symphony have a pretty late opening day to...

    ecwcs level 7 puffy pants

I’ve posted this before but it’s a pic for size comparison. The level 7 pants are in the green bag and the yellow bag is a pair of OR synthetic pants. The sizing on them is kinda big in my opinion.

    Deep snow and moose kill

Well his screen name is AK cabin so that’s probably a fairly decent initial clue. North side of Cook Inlet is another. Still a fairly large area he’s describing but if your throwing darts at the lesser 48 your a ways off…

    Kodiak Deer limit change

You should look at last years draw supplement. The DCUA in particular. Like 72 tags total for for residents 6-7 for NR going guided and 1 for NR no guide. I’d consider that an outfitter allocation. Funniest part of it only 1 guy applied for the guided tag and he’s in the sheep forum looking...

North face vs Stone Glacier Sleeping Bag

I figured you’d get nothing but the stone glacier recommended so I’ll be the dissenting voice. The real answer is look at the specs side by side and choose. What power down? How much? and so on. I’ve been looking at the inferno bags but I’m looking for a minus 20-40 bag. They spec out pretty...
