calling all alaskan's ;
I have been itching to go stretch out my rifle and confirm my dope, none of the ranges near me go past 200. I have been to this range probably 10 times over the years but someone recently tried convincing me that you have to be apart of an unknown gun club for access. This didn't make sense because every time I have shot there it's been empty. I called the glenallen F&G and the guy had no idea it existed. So they don't maintain it which has me questioning myself about heading up to go shoot. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I’m not familiar with that range. But what about the range on the parks outside
Talkeetna? You can shoot out to 1,000.

I've never been but I know a few people who recommended it. I thought you had to join the upper susitna association to shoot. I just checked and I'm wrong there's a daily fee available. but it says it's still closed for winter. might have to just go hike out somewhere bring my own steel.

They open fairly soon I believe. Mid May maybe. If you join their club you save like 50 percent on range fees. If you go often it makes sense. I think it’s like 10 bucks regularly and 20 for the 1,000 yard range. It’s a real nice range in my opinion.
