    Thoughts on this Mountain Goat

I would want to see its urination posture to confirm but based on the pictures presented i'm seeing a nanny or at best a really young billy. (Based on a combination of huge gap between bases, large eye to base ratio, smaller shoulders, no roman nose, no dusting patch on the hips and overall...

    Comparable to Leupold VX3i?

Love the VX3i 2.5-8x36, but it seems they are to be no more. Any suggestions for a light weight dependable scope that is similar? I'm a "450 and in" shooter, so i don't need the big magnification or turrets.

    Fishing in Canada

Cutts and Bulls in East Kootenays, Gerrard Bows in Chilcotin, good Pike means a drive north of Prince George (all of this if staying in BC). Read the regulationss very carefully, as there are some closures based on geography and outright closures on some species...

    Cam Hanes

Every single person on here has someone that thinks they are an asshat. 7.5 billion people on the planet means not everyone loves you like your mama.

    Jim Shockey on Border Closure

Full disclosure that i didn't read the article (i haven't paid attention to Shockey in a long time). I'm not going to comment on business practices of GO's as i have some strong opinions but for our Southern neighbours it should be noted that the cost of living in the North is ridiculous e.g...

    Canadian citizenship

If neither of you were born in Canada you will have an uphill battle unless you are either refugees fleeing a hostile state OR you possess a an employment skill-set that is in high demand and are under a certain age. Here is your starting point to answer questions...

    Shooting a Sow w/ Cubs

Judging Boars versus Sows is a combination of characteristics. Using one method to determine it is often a big risk. I have been fooled more than once by a big old sow that had size and attitude. Sows versus Boars: Physical Sows A sow will have a bigger head/longer snout in proportion to her...

    Shooting a Sow w/ Cubs

This is why learning to tell difference between boars and sows is important, and also having the patience and discipline to take the time to do it right. Just because you see a bear doesn't mean that pulling the trigger is the next step. Cubs stay with sows until the end of their second spring...

    Border News..

Nope. https://www.kamloopsthisweek.com/news/americans-get-a-break-on-masks-what-about-canada-in-the-news-for-may-14-1.24319173 The scientific method seems to have morphed into something i don't recognize.

    The future is...South Cox?

Not the only common denominator from an incident analysis perspective, but point taken. Still curious to see how it all evolves.

    The future is...South Cox?

It seems Mr. Cox has purchased not only A&H Archery but Dryad bows as well. I am curious to see what he does with O.L Adcock's proprietary limb designs. Might be time to look at getting on the waitlist...

    older (special) rifle project

Wapiti1 nailed the big points. Pull that pad and make sure that the butt end is really well sealed. I have a Mauser that i believe was custom built in the early 80's that the smith used thinned out clear epoxy to seal the entire inletting front to back. It has spent weeks hunting moose in the...

    Pronghorn longbow

It's been a few years, but i seem to recall the Pronghorn i briefly had as being shy of center cut by about 3/16" or so. The shelf had a mild radius to it, but because of the handle style it was subtle and rearward to keep it above the pivot point.

    Pronghorn longbow

As said above, a no frills tool that is built for the long haul. Very stable and forgiving but NOT fast by any means. Rich Wormington (Yellowstone Longbows) makes a very similar bow in regards to grip and limbs. If i was to pick a three piece bow that is durable, functional and fast with a...

    WOW, am I old

Everything you listed with the exception of the ILF has been around since the early 1960's in one form or another. ILF is nothing more than an evolution of the Bear Mag series of bows from the 60's. I know gents who reinforced Microflite arrows long before Carter was President. Nothing has...
