Is good 7mm Rem mag ammo available in Italy loaded with 168 bergers or 162 ELDX?
If not something like the 6.5 prc would be perfect for your ranges and size of game
The key here is you mentioned long range, this is where the heavier for caliber berger and eldms shine.
I don't know what long range means to you but if it involves killing elk or moose sized game beyond 600 yards the 30's and heavy 7s have a distinct advantage.
It sounds like you're looking...
I'm still fire forming, the load I tried with 225 eldms was the third firing on the cases I'm sending in to have my dies made.
I used 79 grains H1000 seated 3.56 oal, haven't chronoed yet but I'll do a little more development this weekend over the chrono.
Check out the Manners MCS Pro Hunter, lots of awesome features in the same price point but at 25 oz.
I spoke with Alterra about their 700 offerings and it's going to be months before they even start taking orders
Funny I'm actually doing load development in my 300 NM ai with 225 eldms at the moment, shooting in the .3s with the first load I tried.
They're absolutely devastating on elk!
My wife completely stoned a cow with a 225 last season, it was a 200 yard double lung but she dropped so fast I thought...

Oh I'm tracking now,
It'd basically be like the 7 wsm with a super short neck.
It still wouldn't get more than a couple grains though, the 30 and 270 Gidds were based off a case that started with a super long neck and had more room to blow the shoulder out.
Yeah it'd definitely be a bit of work going option 2, and probably kinda silly just to get it in a standard billet Tikka mag. It wouldn't necessarily require neck turning if the reamer was specd right but I'd probably skim turn for consistency.
The donut would be a non issue cuz I'm seating the...
Last year I built a short barreled 7-300 wsm improved on a Tikka action, it's an awesome round but all that extra space in the Mountain Tactical magazine got my gears turning.
I'm a huge fan of the fat wsm and nosler case designs with 35 degree shoulders, I got to looking at the 33 Nosler case...
Yeah I was stuck between the two and almost went with the Hyperion, from guys I've spoken with who've used both they all agreed that the Hyperion is the quietest 30 cal suppressor on the market
I'm just glad you didn't paint those ribs pink..
A buddy of mine runs a Nomad Ti on his 300 wsm, I need to get together with him and compare it to my Nomad LT
If you're shooting rimfire get a dedicated rimfire can they're cheap enough.
The quietest 30 cal suppressor I've used so far is the Nomad LT, it's tough to beat at 8.4", and 12.6 oz
That's very simular to an experience I had with an elk that I shot with 215 hybrids, bottom line is I'm having excellent results with berger hunting bullets and 225 eldms.
Berger target bullets just haven't expanded very well, or as consistently enough for me to continue hunting with them .
