I just bought a Luna 6 from BPWD to use hunting up here in Alaska. It is basically 10 x 10 tent. How much room do you think you will need for 3 people? Like I mentioned also, the Mr. Buddy propane heater works pretty good for heating tent and drying clothes if need be but one of these days I...
I keep my 10 man arctic tent with liner in a overpac 55 gallon poly drum. The top has one clamp (that requires no tools to remove) and the whole lid comes off. Stronger then a tote and waterproof. You can also get them in different sizes. Another great thing is its strong enough that you can...
You should look at becoming a member of the 49 Club for flying Alaska Airlines. It's free and your first 2 bags are free also. It might not do you any good coming up but it will going back if flying Alaska Airlines. Just a thought.
I was going through some of my gear tonight and found a SMD Lunar Duo tent that I forgot about. When I seen it I remembered my buddy giving it to me when he left the state. The tent is brand new and has never been used and has the 2 carbon fiber poles for setting up. My question is, is this a...
I have one built on a 98 Mauser action but I have yet to try and work up a load for it. Honestly, I have had it for quiet a few years and never used it. I am a big 35 cal fan.
I have one in a Encore and it shoots pretty good. You will have recoil but it's managable. Shooting it from a bench sucks!!!! I haven't hunted with it yet though and you can't beat free!!!
I just recieved my Luna 6 from Bear Paw Design a couple of weeks ago and I'm very pleased with the looks and quality. I read a lot of reviews talking about the sewing of the seams looking crappy but mine looks top notch. I can't wait to use it and test it out in the field. I also bought a couple...
I just picked up a Exped Winterlite LW to use in my floorless tent. It weights a little more but extra thickness should be worth it to me and my bad back. I haven't used it yet so I can't say for sure how it will work or last.
Kevin,
My bad and everything is good. I have also thought about trying the boots that have tops that unroll to make hip boots. I just haven't seen any in person to really look at them and see how they fit.
Kevin,
I feel your post was directed toward my comment and that is fine, its your opinion. I never said a leather boot would stop you from twisting/breaking a ankle or keep your feet dryer then rubber boots. But there is no rubber boot that I have seen that gives as much ankle support as a good...
I haven't hunted with Berger bullets yet but my boys gave me a 338 RUM for christmas. I will be using the 300 gr Bergers out of it this hunting season if I can get a good load worked up. It should be a beast and great for moose/grizzly.
Bruce,
If you are talking about the ones that slip over your hunting boots, they will work for stream crossing but don't expect to do a lot of walking in them and expect them to last. I have a pair of them also. I have used Lacrose Ankle fit knee boots and had good luck with them. It also...
