looking for suggestion on heavier weight synthetic zip off long johns. I currently have kuiu 97 zip off which are nice just looking for something in the 200weight range. Or maybe I will have to just use zip off puffy pants
Thanks

I’ve got zip off puffy pants and long johns. I really like the First Light Kiln zip offs. Good weight and when I get too warm hiking they zip on and off pretty easy

The SG Helio bottoms are nice too for another midweight option. I have used the Kiln 250s the last couple years and they're nice too.

Kuiu kenai pants are probably the next step up but they are in between a base layer and puffy pants. The SG helio didn’t feel any warmer than the Kuiu 97 and the fit was really off for me. Haven’t tried the Firstlite. Unless we’re getting into Sherpa fleece is it really going to be significantly warmer than a base layer without getting into a puffy pant?

Agree with the previous 2 posts. You can take them on and off without taking your boots or pants off: game changer for me
This is what I was wondering. Thanks. My body runs really hot and I rarely if ever wear long johns. Usually only in Coldest conditions and the lightest baselayer silk weight level.

Agreed with the others that brag on zip off under layers. I just purchased my first set a few years ago upon learning of them. As others said, game changer.
