Looking for suggestions on a decent pant for spot and stalk coues and mule deer archery hunting. I hunt in temps from 30 on the coldest days to 70, I generally wear think Marino long johns underneath my pants and shed them in the afternoon when it gets too hot. I need a quiet fabric and I'd love something with vents that can zip open for dumping heat and knee pads would nice but not necessary. I currently hunt in the walmart wrangler pants which I like but are a tad noisy sometimes. Iv had interest in the kings camo preacher 2.0 pants, some of the pnuma pants and few others. Am I missing a ton woth my 30$ pants vs a 200$ ? I'm open to anything and curious what guys use as overall archery hunting pant.

I’m a fan of the Kuiu Tiburon. The lightest and quietest I’ve found. I’m sure some will say they’re too fragile but I’ve had no trouble with them from desert to forest. Probably around 100 days in them

Will they survive a cat claw patch? I looked at the attack pants briefly but I'm from back east so I don't have any places to see / try on kuiu gear.

I don’t know what car claw is. They’ve spent a lot of time busting brush with the occasional pointy plant, if I’m encountering stickers or briars I’m finding a new route as I assume anyone would.

AKA Wait a Minute bush. If you ever innocently or unknowingly try to “bust brush” through catclaw you’ll for sure be waiting a minute or two or three getting yourself unsnared from its claws. It will tear up clothes probably faster than any other bush or plant out here in the desert. It’s a learned skill to get through the clusters of bushes. Best avoided but sometimes you just can’t :)

Having tried some of the under armor, Sitka and now Kuiu, I’m a big fan of the attack pants. I even got some in everyday wear because I like them so much. I live and primarily hunt in Louisiana. Thick bottom land thickets and swamps are rough on pants especially. I have 3 years on my current pair in valo and you’d never know they were 3 years old.

You might like them and in some places they are great but they’re a terrible choice of pants for Coues and desert mule deer country. They’ll get torn up way faster than the Tiburon or Kutana down here and most of the time they’re too warm. I have all three and the Attack never gets worn here.

These things will absolutely shred Attack and Tiburon pants. Kutana do OK somehow, pretty much all I'll wear in West Texas.

Thanks for all the info, sounds like I should look into some kutana or tiburon. Maybe black Friday will help me decide. Anyone have any experience woth the preacher 2.0 ? First lite? Pnuma? Sitka? My buddy hunts az in some Marino FL pants but he has torn several holes just crossing fences.

I would suggest the new outdoor vitals pants, theyre cheaper than most and INCREDIBLE pants... I was anti built in belt, but it's perfect,.... I am now sold

I have been living in a green pair since flying to CO in October to scout for elk, long johns under them below 30 and I am good to go.

They are quiet and durable enough, also nothing works in great in thorns except actual brush pants, so just deal with it!

and I have tried basically everything.
