If you search for posts in the "would you buy this scope" thread the THLR while non-conventional at a glance is supposed to draw in the eyes and be more intuitive in an actual hunting scenario and various magnifications and less visual obstruction.

No clue if that bears out but that is the claim, figured I'd order the THLR to try.

The rmg-h is essentially a different version of the SWFA Milquad. The THLR is a simplified version of the one found in the minox. The THLR is less traditional so my guess is they gave people something the are used to, and then the reticle @Formidilosus and the S2H guys wanted
