Youth boots

Looking for some advice on youth hunting boots. My 7yo is coming on squirrel hunts/scouts with me this winter and was complaint about wet socks/sore heels with his current boots. Idk what he has now, his mom bought them, but I want to get him something that he can wear in the snow. He’s a size 3.

I’d also like to hear a suggestion for a lightweight knee-high boot for scouting in the summer/fall. I don’t think one boot will meet all of our needs.

I bought my daughter a pair of Vasque Breeze boots for her caribou hunt. She actually has had 2 pairs because her feet grew about a month before the hunt both pairs have seemed to be waterproof. She never crossed any streams, I carried her but we dealt with a very wet and windy day and her feet were dry.

Our other boot choices are xtra tuff boots for the beach and commercial fish site but the kid ones seem to be garbage she can now wear a women’s.

Fall, spring and winter we have bogs for the kids they have worked great. We do the -30 rated ones.
