Your first deer rifle?

Wby 300 um / no mb with a Nikon that probably was broken inside. That Mark V was pretty though.....😆. Worked myself down the power curve very fast. Landed on a 270 for many years once I recovered from that first concussion (kidding).

7x75 Mauser WW2 vintage. That thing was so heavy. My Dad cut off several inches of the barrel, the end of the barrel looked as thick as a nickel is wide. (thick to take the heat of constant firing in war) I think I was 10 years old. When I was 12 or 13 I got a new Interarms Mark X Mauser in 30.06. I still have both.

My first deer rifle was a Rem 700 BDL 30-06 my dad gave me for my birthday when I was 12 or 13. I killed a lot of deer with and still have it although at that age i preferred to use his Marlin 336 30-30 that I started out on. I mostly use a .223 or .243 these days for deer.

Ruger M77 tang safety when I was 12...shot a nice 5x5 on the run that fall with it. Currently still in the safe in a Mcmillan rebarreled to 6 creed. My oldest will have it some day.

Winchester model 70 in .270 when I was 12. Took many deer with that rifle. I had to sell it in order to pay for an emergency vet bill for the doggo in my early 20’s. Then bought another one in my mid 30’s.

Saved up money doing chores and convinced my dad to buy me a 22-250. Pretty sure is was just a Stevens but it gets the job done and has been for quite a while now
