your favorite creedmoor

my next big hunt is going to be in Africa so I’m looking at rifles on the opposite end of the spectrum.
With the right projectiles, any of the Creedmoors will work for plains game.

If you're planning on DG, worth noting that Tikka offers the T3x in 9.3x62mm

That's an interesting thought. I could see them being a smash hit introduced in that order or I could also see them facing stiff existing competition in those categories and gone the way of the 30 TC/30 Creedmoor. Can only speculate now.
You're 100% right...but it was spawned by the PRS guys needing a 6.5 to play that game...initially anyway and it filled that hole the 260 was just so/so at filling. Case was a little long for the longer high BC bullet they wanted to use. They made their name and following there and then spawned the rest. Hard to say they did it wrong when they killed and are killing it still 😂

Built my son one for this year. He will be 9. He's shot a 223 for the past couple years and done really well but specifically built this to shoot long range. Did you go with a boyd's stock for him? I bit the bullet and put it in a MDT chassis so I could adjust it to him. The hardest part of the whole thing was finding something to fit him.
It is a boyds, cut down. I will soon have to start adding spacers as he is growing fast.

His rifle is a really cheap savage axis with a criterion prefit from northland shooters supply 1-7 twist, and then a boyds varmint stock.

But dang it can shoot. Consistently shooting under 1MOA all the way out to 1000yds.

I have another one built on a tikka action strictly for copper. Its a 20" preferred 1-6 twist in a stockys vg carbon stock. With scope it sits right at 7lbs.
It shoots the 77g PVA cayuga at 3275fps into tiny little groups as well.

The only Creedmoor I have currently is the 30 TC so I suppose by defult that's my "favorite" but while I really like the cartridge I don't shoot it very often.

I've had a good 2 decade run with several 260's but once this current barrel is toast I'll finally be switching over to either a 25 or 6.5 CM, Not sure yet, I'm a fan of both calibers.
