Yamaha Kodiak 450 vs grizzly 700

I was going through the same process last year. I had decided on a Grizzly until I started looking for a unit. Several on Marketplace had photos with the gas cap off. When I asked, I was told that the Yamahas had an issue with vapor locking on long rides.
I ended up with a Honda Rubicon. Got EPS, independent rear suspension which is great and the DCT. It’s been a great machine around here and I can’t wait to get it to Idaho this fall.

I've had a grizzly 700 before. Fantastic machine, lots of raw power. Awhile back I switched to a sportsman 700 and put the wife on a 500. For hunting I have never needed the power from the 700. I'd look more into reliable/price instead of power

If the prices were close I'd say go with the 450. I have a 700 and a 450, both Kodiaks. You'd be hard pressed to find something that the 700 would do that the 450 won't. I prefer the storage on the 700 but that's not a huge deal.

I would happily take a Honda rancher 420 if I could find one with eps and the IRS, in a color like green!

I was looking for someone who had both, thanks for the comment. 450 would suit me just fine I think! Yours have EPS?

Hard to say from a reliability, my sportsman is an 08, low hours but I've never had an issue with it. The grizzly was a 11 with 1500 miles on it but never had any issues with that either. The Polaris is definitely peppier, the grizzly has more torque. If you ever do plowing, hauling ect id say grizzly is the way to go

You won't regret the grizzly. I bought one new in 2006. Grizzly 660 Ducks Unlimited version. It has been an incredible machine. I still use it and have had no major issues. A couple carb cleans over 20 years and thats it. It still looks brand new.

That’s impressive. Hopefully mine will be just as good. Thanks for input
