Hey fellas. I recently sold my bruin 350 and looking to upgrade a little. Debating between a 2010-2014 ish grizzly 700 model or a 2024 ish Kodiak 450. This is what I’m finding my budget allows. Used obviously.

I want 4x4 for and EPS regardless.

For general fart around but also my planned annual elk hunts which do you prefer? Will the 450 do everything I need it to do? Or go with the older 700?

I bought my wife a Koidak and myself a grizzly last summer, both new. Her Koidak is fine but I love the grizz. That said I dont think there is anything I need to do either on my property or hunting that the Kodiak couldnt. The grizz is far more fun ripping up trails though.

I would try to find a used Kodiak 700. Much cheaper than the grizzly. When I bought my Kodiak last year it was about $4K cheaper than the Grizzly. Grizzlys are trail machines, Kodiaks are more of a work horse.

I'd prefer the 450. It's also considerably newer which is nice (according to your post/budget). I'd like the 450 either way though. I've had a few and they top out around 40 which is plenty fast and I've never had issues dragging hogs and various things out of swampy marsh with the 450, tons of power and 4lo if needed. Lighter to haul, lighter to load especially if going into a truck bed. For my use anyway I see zero benefits to a larger displacement engine.

I have owned both and both served me well. I went to the Grizzly only because my older Kodiak was a carb vs electronic ignition that always gave me problems at altitude. If I was buying used today Grizzly all the way.

I’ve found a really clean grizzly 700 2010 model with 200 hours for $4,000! It’s top of my list

Definitely hard to choose. I’m sure the 450 will do everything I need it to do. The 700 might be a tad overkill for 97% of my uses
