Wyoming is nuts !!!

But it is impacted by the points systems and increased fees that States use as money makers. Fish and Wildlife organizations used to be about providing a service, not a for profit business.
I think you are drastically underestimating the cost to manage a states wildlife. There are a ton of needed projects they still can't afford in Wyoming. I also agree with the post above. License costs definitely have not kept up with inflation. I know the recent increases feel like allot, but they went through almost the last 20 years without increasing much before that because they struggled to sell all the tags. Now that demand is up, they are trying to catch up.

I hate paying the higher prices, but I understand the need and I really want to see improved management so I'll gladly pay the higher tag prices.

So you don't mind if our American Hunting Heritage grow farther out of reach for those who would love to hunt?
Hunters do this to themselves. The guys driving the price up, buying up the pref points and tags, and just loving to hunt are driving things out of reach.

It has always been that the guy with more money has more fun and does more.

I’m at the point life where I’m busy with work, family, business ect so I try and go on a guided hunt every year or two. With that the best way to do it is lock in a couple years in advance and plan accordingly. I’ve also found hunting overseas is a good value if you start to factor in landowner tag and guide fees and usually they have a better success rate. If you make a long weekend with your wife at one of the larger shows Sci, DSC, western hunting expo ect you can talk to a bunch of different outfitters and look them in the eye before giving them a deposit to ease your worry.
