I think you are drastically underestimating the cost to manage a states wildlife. There are a ton of needed projects they still can't afford in Wyoming. I also agree with the post above. License costs definitely have not kept up with inflation. I know the recent increases feel like allot, but they went through almost the last 20 years without increasing much before that because they struggled to sell all the tags. Now that demand is up, they are trying to catch up.But it is impacted by the points systems and increased fees that States use as money makers. Fish and Wildlife organizations used to be about providing a service, not a for profit business.
I hate paying the higher prices, but I understand the need and I really want to see improved management so I'll gladly pay the higher tag prices.
