Wyoming Draw

I guess that's one way to look at it.

You're saying the party application is just benevolence on the part of WGF to keep friends and family together on their hunt but I don't agree. I think every single tag decision made by the WG&F or the legislature regarding non-residents has to do with money. And why wouldn't it? It's a primary source of income and crucial to their budget. The NR party app allowing tag numbers to exceed quota is just a bonus.

And to be clear, I'm not being critical of Wyoming. All states, especially western states, look at NR tags this way. Wyoming is just good at it because they have such a good product to sell and a limited resident population.
Who cares why they extend the quota for party apps? There’s enough rules across the west that make it difficult for NR to get tags. Why complain about something that benefits NR?

I didn't mean to come across as complaining. My very first Type 1 tag was a random party app and zero points. I don't care if I get a tag in a Cracker Jack box.

Just don't think there aren't some party app shenanigans going on among complete strangers.

For $400/point I'll add max Elk points to any strangers party app.

You mean like 6 strangers with 15 points each applying for a hunt that takes 15 points, and only offers 3 NR point pool tags? Adjust the points and tag numbers as you see fit, but you get the idea.
